Chit Chat

This card is for a friend of mine that I have not seen too much of this winter as she has been care giver for her mother who has been in and out of the hospital for the last year.  I thought this was the perfect card to make for her because when I did get to see her each time it was only for a few minutes.

This cute digital image which is called Chit Chat is from Ditzi Digi Design coloured with copics.  Blue rhinestones down each side of the image and in a tiny flower at the bottom of the card.  The DP is from DCWV and has a lot of glitter on it which makes it appear to be a lighter colour than it really is. The sentiment is computer generated, and I just used the name of the image and made up the rest .

Bird House Flowers

Well it's been raining here all day to-day.  Did get out to golf on Monday morning just 9 holes, and was sure cold by the last two!  But went into the clubhouse and warmed up over coffee.  Had a good time in spite of the weather.  First game this year.

This is a quick card for a friends birthday.  Bird House image from Digi Stamps for Joy.  The bird is also from Digi Stamps for Joy, I just removed the leaves around it.  Coloured with copics with Stickles on the flowers.  The lattice is from a Martha Stewart punch.  The sentiment is from Nettys Cards and the DP is from my stash.

Butterflies

We have actually had a few days this week, that you didn't mind going outside. The sun was out, warmer, the breeze is still cold but no more snow.  Went to a birthday party tonight for a friend of mine and took this card.  Wish I had checked the pictures that I took a little closer, because they didn't seem to be in focus.
Just checked and the camera is on the setting I usually use, but I did drop it a few weeks ago, so maybe there was some damage or maybe I wasn't holding it very steady.  I always seem to working on something I should have done last week.

The image of the pretty butterflies is from Priscilla Styles, CDAC.  I printed them and then embossed them in gold on Transparency Film. Cut around them and then placed coloured card stock underneath.  I added some lace, some pearls and a sentiment from my stash to the lower part of the card. An popped up the flower that was printed on the top of the DP.  The designer cardstock was all from DCWV.

Had fun at the party with friends I had not seen for quite some time.  The family did all the cooking a beautiful prime rib dinner with all the trimmings and way too much desert!

Fairy Wishes

Few weeks since I last posted.  Our weather is getting better don't mind going outside the last few days.  Hubby managed to fracture two vertebrae in his back a few weeks ago and was in great pain for a couple of weeks, but with medication it is not so bad now, and he has managed to go to Wellness House today.  He usually goes once a week, but had a few weeks off.  Anyway while this was going on I seemed to have lost my mojo.  I did take time most days to stop by quite a few blogs to make comments - I always see such great awesome work from fellow card makers.

Finally got busy and made a card for my sister.  The image is from Fitztown, and I think she is lovely!  I have coloured the background with copics and have paper pieced her dress and wings.  Have added micro sized gold beads to the centres of the yellow flowers and Rock Candy Stickles and glamour dust to her wings.  For embellishments I simply added a velvet ribbon and a small butterfly from my stash. Sentiment computer generated.

I should mention that the large flowers were coloured with pink copics before I decided to paper piece them, they were just too pink and I decided to cover them.  And then it was a toss up a purple dress that I had cut out or the pink one that I ended up with.    Such big decisions!

This is a close up of the image:

Apples

I did a blog hop at Sassy Studio Designs last weekend and at the end of the hop we got a free digital Sentiment image from the new sentiments by Greg (you should check out the rest of them.)   It was fun as there were all kinds of new sentiments along the way.  Always nice to be able to put a new one on the front of your card!

This image is from Sassy Studio Designs that I won in another hop.  I do love their images!  I coloured her with Copics  and gold pen for her belt and necklace.  Used the sentiment and added an apple from my button collection.  The stars are also from my button jar, I added some thread to them.  The vellum with the gold leaves and the cardstock are all from my stash.

Poppy

Seems like forever since I have posted, too many appointments and commitments other than card making.
But I am here to-day and it looks like another busy week ahead.  The weather is looking better, not so much snow on the ground now, but you still have to watch out for the ice.

This wonderful image is from Unky at The East Wind.  It was fun to colour with my copics.  I used a Spellbinders die cut to frame her.  An Anna Griffin Cuttlebug folder to emboss the blue background.  The Poppies are a die cut from Memory Box.  The cardstock from Micheals.  The ribbon, pearls and sentiment are from my stash.

This is a close up of just the image.

Aurora

A very sweet image from The East Wind Challenge Blog which I have coloured with copics.  The DP are all from Teresa Collins.  The die cut out placed over the image is from my stash. The flowers from Forever in Time.   The sentiment from Making Memories.

Just saw this blog yesterday, became a follower and purchased this image, only to find out it was the freebie for signing up for their Newsletter which I had done..

Very windy here yesterday, but some what warmer.  But I gather next week is going to be very cold again.  Some of  our snow has melted causing large puddles everywhere, but we still have lots of snow banks left.

Vintage Golfing

I am dating myself, but when I first started golfing one Sunday we went to a course not far from where I lived and found out that they would not let women on the course on a Sunday.  And I know that there were still a few courses that would not allow women to golf there at all.  Thank goodness everything changed a few years after that. And no, I never wore a long skirt golfing.

Anyway, I think that this is a very striking lady golfer - image from Two for Tuesday, paper pieced and coloured with copics. The DP is from DCWV and the border from Recollections.  I paper pieced the suit with cardstock from Recollections.  The flowers are from Prima. Lace from my stash.

Roses & Butterflies

This sweet little lass is a stamp from Lilli Of the Valley  coloured with copics.  I framed her with a scrap which I had die cut the centre from for a different card.  The various cardstocks were all scraps from my stash.  The corner circle was a sticker from Basic Grey which I enhanced with a copic marker.

Tweet Birthday Girl

I belong to a great card group and we meet every Thursday taking turns as the hostess.  Morning coffee, and lunch with juice and or a drink along the way.  Always have a great time - you tend to forget about anything that's troubling you and enjoy their company!

This card is for one of the women in the group, I didn't have a great deal of time to make it, so didn't get into any embellies, thought after I could have added some stickles to the chicks, but it was after I had given it away!  Anyway the girls had fun deciding which chick they would be!

The image and the sentiment is from From the Heart I needed 6 chicks so just repeated the image.  Coloured with copics.  DP from my stash.

Girls Only

Well, the snow keeps falling and the plows are making higher and higher banks of it.  But at the moment the roads are clear and it was a sunny day!

This cute little girl is an image from Digi Stamps For Joy And I have coloured her with copics and used a Spellbinders die to cut her out.  The DP are from Recollections - the Patterned turquoise one and the yellow dot one, both are quite glittery but is does not show up on my blog.  The plainer turquoise is from Paper Pizazz and I edged it with a Martha Stewart punch.  The upper left corner is a die from Marriane  Design.
The flowers are from Forever in Time.

I always like to make cards for younger girls, but next time I think I will pick out some papers before I colour the image, it might make it easier!

Rudbeckia

It is still very cold outside below zero and you do have to watch where you are walking as there are still many icy patches.  We are suppose to get another snowstorm tonight so don't know what we will wake up to in the morning.  Had a good morning at curling to-day we started a new series which means a whole new team. We did manage to win the game in the last end.

This image is from Janey Digi Designs. I have coloured the image with copics. The DP is all from K & Company , the Butterfly and the sentiment stamp are from my stash.

A close up of the flowers:

Coffee Time

I made this card for a friend of mine that I play cards with every week.  There are seven of us in the group and we always celebrate each others birthdays at cards with a cake and birthday cards with a lottery ticket.  So far no one has gotten rich on those tickets but we do have fun.

The image I used is from TLC and the DP are from Walmart.  I used pop dots under the hand with the coffee cup and the watch.

This is the inside of the card

The inside of the card is the same color as the front of the card, but I guess I used a different light when taking the second picture.  DP from Walmart, wording computer generated.

I used a sketch from Sketch Saturday but I missed the deadline for the challenge.

Time for Golf

Broken pipe and cracked valve in a shower sent water down to our lower floor bathroom - Lucky I was on my way downstairs and we were able to shut the water off before it caused a whole lot of damage.  The pipe was inside an outside wall and froze from the extreme cold we have had.  So between plumbers coming and going and what seemed like a lot of appointments for my husband, I have not had much time to make cards or blog for a couple of weeks.

This card is for my brother who would golf every day if he had the chance.  I kept the card fairly CAS with just the images and sentiment.

The watch and sentiment are images from Doodle Pantry and the golf cart is from Just Inklined.  I coloured the golf cart with copics, but they are just at that age where they are running out of ink so every time I got half way through a colour the pen would run dry.  So there are numerous colours of blue ink on the bag.  I used a silver pen to accent the club covers and zipper pulls.  The watch was precoloured.

I do have to make a list of my copics that need ink and order a tube of each.

A Christmas Candle

Well it is still very cold here in our complex the street and our driveways were all ice this morning.  But, by the time I was ready to go curling this morning some sand and salt had been put down, so it was melting.
Had a great game to-day even though we only had three on our team, we managed to win the game -  that meant we bought drinks for our opponents (Coffee).  A good morning!

This image is a freebie from Digi Stamps 4 Joy for their first Christmas Challenge.  I stamped the image twice, once on white cardstock and then on the beige DP.  I coloured the candle with Yasutomo metalic paint and then cut it out and glued it to the beige.  I cut out stars and coloured them with copics and attached them to the candle.  The base was coloured with copics.  The sentiment is a die cut.  The DP and cardstock are from my stash.

I if you stop by, I do hope you have time to leave a comment, they are very much appreciated.

The Skaters

Wow first post for 2014 and it is nice to be inside as it is freezing outside.  We have not had a winter as cold as this for quite a few years.  We were so lucky that we didn't lose our power in the ice storm.  Many of our friends were without power for several days, not very pleasant with no heat or water.  Because it is so cold my next card is a reminder that it is still winter here!

I have created this card using a sketch from Mojo Monday I did a bit of flipping of the original and this is what I came up with:

Original -

My Version -

I chose the square card -

I coloured the image from Sassy Cheryl's with copics.  adding some silver glitter from Recollections to the falling snow, the ice and around the edge of the oval.  The pink DP is from Recollections and so are the Dimensional Sticker snowflakes.  The grey\blue DP is from Cardmaking and Papercrafting Magazine.

I was able to pick up some of the shine from the glitter on the oval and from the snowflakes.
